When it comes to what people order, pizza is the undisputed king, beating out seafood in second place and steak in third. The ranking of the 10 most beloved foods includes both classic staples that have been consumed by humans for centuries, as well as more recent favorites. A survey conducted by a market research and data analysis firm surveyed over 25,000 people in 24 markets, asking them which of the 34 national cuisines they had eaten and whether they liked it or not. The results showed that Italian food was the most popular not only in the United States, but around the world.
In fact, 99 percent of Italian residents held a favorable view of Italian food. Chinese and Japanese cuisine were also highly favored, with 78 percent and 71 percent of those surveyed expressing a positive attitude towards these cuisines respectively. American food is a cuisine that is constantly changing and evolving, from soul food to California cuisine, hamburgers and fries, and everything in between. The data for this article was based on the report on food balance from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
